I’ll say this very clearly. If you are still using Internet Explorer, you are an idiot.
Ok that was a little harsh I admit but with that said please go right now and download Firefox if you don’t already have it. Reason being is there is a ton of plugin tools you can use to help your website. One of the biggest tools I use is called SEO for Firefox by Arron Wall over at SEOBook.com. It basically gives you extra stats when you do a search in Google.
Another tool that I use is called Shareaholic. This is how I get indexed with Google so fast. Every time I post a new blog or write a new article or even link to someone I send that page to all the big social networking guys. Google searches these pages constantly and will get routed back to your site putting you on Google radar.
Also let’s say you exchange links with someone. It might take Google some time to crawl their site and recognize your link. To speed up this process submit the page that your link is on through Shareaholic and it should get indexed quickly making that link useful.
So my advice is to download this puppy and start to use it every time you add new content to your website(s). Also below are some more related links about using Google to get traffic to your website:

While trying to build traffic to my ArrestedDevelopmentBlog.com website, I was asking my followers on Twitter what I should do. I got a lot of recommendations saying to use Facebook.com
Now I have a personal Facebook that I use to keep in touch with friends from High School and other personal things and I was curious if I should use that. My advice to you is if you already have a pretty good Facebook Account use it to your advantage. You can sign up for groups in your niche and start your own. And you can act like you have nothing to do with the blog you are trying to promote and just trying to give people good information.
I’ve noticed that Facebook is really tight with who they allow on. If you try to add too many friends or join too many groups, they will find out and try and stop you. The idea of Facebook is to try not to seem like you are trying to market something.
I know this because I started a Facebook account soley for my Arrested Development Blog. I was trying to add a bunch of friends from Arrested Development groups and Facebook was trying to slow me down. I just wanted everyone to join my Arreseted Development group to try and get them to go to my website. What you have to do is engage. Just like any other social media site. But I’m engaging and adding friends so I can engage more. It comes to a point where you have to rely on other people to recommend you and find you.
So is it worth starting a new facebook account – yes. If you don’t mind working at it a little or if you don’t have one at all!
ADsense Challenge Update

What next?
So I was reading TwiTip.com (one of Darren Rowse’s Blogs) and he was reviewing a site called TweetBeep.com. Which If I could explain it, I would say it’s like Google Alerts for Twitter.
I started a new blog to test adsense called ArrestedDevelopmentBlog.com which is a blog about the show Arrested Development and the movie updates. In order to start gaining traffic and readers to this site I decided to sign up for TweetBeep and get emails sent to me whenever someone mentions “Arrested Development” or “Bluth” in a tweet. About every other day I get about 20+ twitterers that post tweets about these subjects. So I follow every one of them and now I can give updates about Arrested Development and share quotes with those followers.
It seems to be working out well so far, the site has only been up for about 4 days now and I’m already getting retweets and some traffic from Twitter. So my advice is, if you have a niche and use twitter, use TweetBeep to find follwers faster!

I am using Google analytics and webmaster tools to track my websites and I have been using it for about a month. The problem that I’m having is that my page rank is still at 0. That’s not helping me at all. I posted a question on Twitter this morning -
“I just cannot get my page rank up, what’s with me. It’s taking forever.”
@yuyudin responded to me with some really helpful tips on trying to get my page rank up. She mentioned at one point that page rank was overrated but still helped me out anyway. Here are some of the tips she gave me about this site.
Increasing Your Google Page rank Tips
- If you are using Wordpress to host your blog make sure you create different more specific link categories. Which I implemented. She mentioned to split it into categories like SEO Tips and so forth. You can see how I did it on the right hand side of this site.
- If you have articles on your website or blog posts, you should like to other posts in your blog or website that are relevant. So for instance on SwimUniversity.com I have a blog post about Killing Swimming Pool Algae. In that post I mention that one way of killing algae is by using pool shock. I have another article called The Right Way To Shock Your Pool. So anytime I see pool shock in the Algae Article, I like that Pool Shock word in the Algae Article to the Shock Article. Because when Google scans your website it picks up links faster than all other text.
- The quickest way to get inbound links to your website is by signing up for Social Media sites and using links to that site to your site.
