Building an HDTV home theater system is relatively easy the problem is that many people are not really familiar with all the tech jargon surrounding the industry. If you are interested in upgrading your living room home theater here is what you need in order to get the full blown HD experience that you are craving for. Surprisingly, apart from the Tv set itself most of the components are not so costly but they can be if you don’t shop wisely.
The first thing that you need is an HDTV television. This is rather obvious on the most part. What is important is that the set is Full HD ready. In other words, the set should be able to display 1080p resolutions. Look for sets from good brands but be careful not to overspend, you will need cash for other components.
The second thing that you need is a set of home theater speakers with their corresponding console. There are many combo sets that sell for less than $200 that are more than enough to blast the windows out. Buy one that is 5.1 Dolby Surround Sound capable.
The third device that you need is a Blu-Ray player. Yep, you need a Blu-Ray player, that old DVD player won’t do. One of the things many people don’t know is that you need a source of HD signals in order to watch media or programs in high definition resolutions. DVDs are good for standard resolutions not HD.
Other stuff that you should add to your shopping list are HDMI cables. These are relatively cheap and they are crucial to get the best experience possible. These are needed to connect you Tv with your Blu-Ray player and any other source of HD you may have like a high definition satellite receiver or cable television box.
If you plan your budget wisely you can build a cheap home theater for around $1000 dollars. You may think that you won’t be getting much at first with $1000 but considering that a lot of people are spending thousands for a TV and do not know that they need HD signals in order to get the most from their set you will be doing better with a smaller screen that supports 1080p, full 5.1 speakers, a Blu-Ray player and flawless HDMI connections.
