The Best Pink Laptops: Pretty In Pink

Gone are the days when laptops came in black, black and black! The laptop and netbook market has exploded into color in the last few seasons, and right now there’s the biggest choice of all. But for a really girlie girl (or indeed a boy), the only possible color choice is pink. There are a profusion of pink laptops on the market at the moment, so if that’s your first (and possibly) only purchase criterion, you won’t have far to look. But you will also want to know that your pink laptop comes with a good combination of performance and value for money, right? Here is a short guide to some of the best pink portable computers around.
Possibly the master of pink design is Asus. The eponymous Asus Karim Rashid is one of the red-hot designs of the moment, a real must-have for this season. Top of the class for its deep pink crocodile-style case, this laptop is light yet powerful, running Windows 7 with a 250GB hard drive and 1GB of RAM. It also has a fantastic 6 hours of battery life. Its shell-like cousin, the glossy baby pink Eee, is a similarly impressive performer, and is the design the Karim Rashid was based on.
Don’t forget the kids – little girls are the color pink’s biggest fans, and Asus also have a pint-sized offering in the 9 inch Eee PC Disney edition. Disney and pink – what could be better? The HP Netbook Mini by Vivienne Tam gains a mention purely for its beauty – the deep reddish-pink floral design is one of the most stunning on the market.
But to end, we must turn to two of the giants of the pink laptop market. For pure pink power there’s nothing to beat the Sony Vaio VCP-EA1S1E. With an astonishing 4GB of RAM and a 500GB hard disk, this is one of the best pink packages on the market, not to mention its graphics card and fantastic screen, making it great for watching movies at home. We can’t leave, however, without mentioning Dell. They deserve a salute as pretty much the first manufacturer to offer pink laptops to the market, and the Inspiron 1545 in particular is still a bestseller today.
